The stars of the Naked Gun weren’t faking their fun. Pamela Anderson really did have a tryst with her co-star Liam Neeson, she confirmed in her December 9 People cover story. “If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” she told the magazine. They had an “intimate week” visiting Neeson’s Albany estate. “I had my own room,” Anderson said, describing their time together. “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.” He nodded toward a future during a dinner “at a tiny French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson.’” She even “tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint.” He even chased a bear away from the window wearing a bathrobe. Then it was all over. “I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty,” she continued. If it that sounds like a romance film to you, down to the bittersweet ending, Anderson agrees, saying it’s “a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film.”
Their chemistry was palpable throughout the Naked Gun press tour this summer, when Anderson and Neeson were reported to be in a “budding romance.” “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt,’” the actress said. “I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.’” Hey, either way it sold tickets. Somebody get Meyers on the phone.
