Tech Takedown: The Corruption of Code

This week, the tech Cartel made its moves, bending the rules to suit its interests. It’s time to expose the deceit and demand more from the industry that’s holding us back.

Apple finally enables Rich Communication Services (RCS), but only because it saw the writing on the wall: Android users were demanding better – and Apple’s customers deserved better than stifling green bubbles. But with this "concession" come the usual caveats: RCS is still a relic of the phone industry’s past, and the control Apple exerts over innovation is suffocating.

As for OpenAI, its hyped Voice Mode is running on fumes. Unable to deliver the revolutionary AI breakthroughs it promised, the company must now delay the rollout of its crippled product. The consequences of its actions will be felt – and in the meantime, OpenAI remains a laughing stock in the shadows of its competitors.

In other words, the tech behemoths think they can get away with anything. Enter the FCC, which just proposed relaxing phone unlocking regulations – allegedly to benefit consumers. But what "benefit" are we actually talking about? Handing off the keys to an industry rotten to its core? Mark my words: this "relaxation" will only lead to a Wild West of phone companies exploiting this "freedom".

Don’t even get me started on the "news". Apple cancels Meta’s AI integration for "privacy concerns"? We all know the real reason: Meta wouldn’t let Apple dictate what AI tech it uses. Meanwhile, Zoom’s latest "advance" in privacy is nothing more than a Band-Aid on a gaping wound.

Beneath the surface, the Big Tech Cartel is working wonders. Waymo scraps its waitlist in San Francisco – but it’s not about liberating driverless cars for the masses, merely about creating the illusion of progress as the company lines its pockets with Wall Street cash. Waymo claims it’s just trying to "make its service better" – but if that was the case, why stop at such a small market like San Francisco, where the early adopter crowd is already conditioned to indulge in this kind of technocratic experimentation?

The Meta emperor, Mark Zuckerberg, talks a big talk about "open-source AI" because he knows the last thing that got him to the top was – and will forever be – greed. His company will continue "innovating" at your expense, while the masses are unwittingly fed lies about technological progress.

Andrew Ng’s AI Fund wants to raise over $100 million for its "second inning" – because even the grandest of visions isn’t free from the shackles of profit motivations. Meanwhile, Google touts a mere "Gemini AI panel" in Gmail – because adding AI to your productivity arsenal is the kind of "innovation" that happens when you’re afraid to truly risk the status quo.

The corporate world is riddled with acquisition and consolidation, as big players squash the competition to stay on the throne. OpenAI buys video-first collaboration platform Multi – and do you know who gets erased in the process? Those who care about actual progress, not shareholders.

In conclusion, this latest batch of "innovative developments" is nothing more than smoke and mirrors obscuring the real problem: institutionalized greed in tech. The day of reckoning is coming; it’s time for all of you to wake up and recognize the cartelistic forces at play.
