What gets me is the hypocrisy. She wanted to teach ambition but modeled cruelty. Wanted to show wisdom but revealed ignorance. It’s actually kind of poetic. The deli worker probably went home with sore feet and a small sense of victory, while that mother went home convinced she’d been disrespected.
