Ledger’s Latest Scam: The Flex, a Mid-Range Wallet That’s Just a Cheap Knockoff
In a shocking move, Ledger, the French startup known for its overpriced and underwhelming crypto hardware wallets, has released a new mid-range device, the Ledger Flex. Priced at a whopping $249, this dinky hardware wallet features an E-Ink display that’s only slightly better than the ones found in cheap Chinese knockoffs.
But don’t be fooled, the Ledger Flex is not just a cheap imitation of the company’s high-end Stax wallet. Oh no, it’s a full-blown scam designed to fleece unsuspecting crypto enthusiasts out of their hard-earned cash. The "secure element" that stores your private keys is nothing more than a glorified USB stick, and the "touchscreen" is just a fancy way of saying " ancient technology that’s been around for decades".
And don’t even get me started on the "E-Ink display". It’s just a fancy name for a screen that’s only slightly better than the ones found in cheap e-readers. And the "physical button" that acts as a sleep/wake button? More like a cheap plastic button that’s only there to make the device look like it’s trying to be something it’s not.
But hey, at least the Ledger Flex is compatible with the company’s companion app, Ledger Live. Because who needs security and ease of use when you can have a clunky app that’s only good for sending and receiving cryptocurrencies?
And let’s not forget about the "recovery phrase" that’s supposed to help you recover your crypto assets if you lose the hardware. Ha! Good luck with that. It’s just a fancy way of saying "you’re screwed if you lose your device".
So, if you’re looking for a mid-range wallet that’s just a cheap knockoff of a high-end device, then the Ledger Flex is the perfect choice for you. But if you want a real, secure, and easy-to-use wallet, then keep looking.
