UPDATE: Maine resident questions pizza parlor with thousands of customer reviews for mysterious missing arcade: ‘I called the store… the response was abrupt’ – FAIL Blog

One Maine resident is taking a serious look at a local fast-food pizza chain, asking important questions, such as: Where is the arcade? 

As journalism becomes less profitable, a lot of individuals are taking it upon themselves to solve the world’s mysteries. And good for them! Someone’s got to do it, and the journalists who still have jobs might not have the capacity to answer every question they want to. 

In this person’s case, they’re curious about the Google reviews for local pizza place. This type of pizza joint isn’t exactly glamorous. They’re usually the type of storefront that is very tiny, with a front counter where you order your food, then take it to go. Most don’t have seating areas, because you’re not meant to eat at that restaurant. You’re supposed to take your “pizza-pizza” home with you and eat it on your couch while watching YouTube videos. It’s not glam or gourmet, but it is like $5 for one pizza pie, and that is a valuable service for a store to offer. 

This person has gone to their local chain numerous times. But after checking out the Google reviews, they noticed that they’d been missing something big. By all accounts online, this pizza place had an excellent arcade attached! This person even shared a few example photos, noting that there were numerous reviews all praising the arcade. I can’t actually show those particular photos because spoiler alert — they weren’t real. But this person did some interesting digging into the arcade/pizza shop story and shared their results over several updates below. 

I do think that pursuing a great arcade to hang out at is a respectable life goal. You’ve got to have as much fun as possible in this life. There are many philosophies on what life’s purpose is, but my favorite is just that: have as much fun as you possibly can with the people you care about most. It’s a shame that arcades aren’t nearly as common as they used to be, because they’re right up there with billiards and darts in the category of “fun things you can combine with a pizza parlor.” There’s nothing like having a few drinks and slices while you watch your friends absolutely nail it at Pac-Man!

Some mysteries in this world just weren’t meant to be solved… we may never know what sparked this whole pizza/arcade debacle in the beginning!
