This groom was left surprised when his 58-year-old coworker decided to show up to his bachelor party!

When you’re planning your bachelor/ette party, it’s only natural to want to bring along the people in your life who know how to party. This probably includes a mix of your besties, your cousins, some friends from high school, and possibly your coworkers. It’s a tricky line to walk — you want to have fun, but you also can’t have your coworker tattling to HR about your night of wild fun. The coworker has to be your friend that you trust, someone you have a good rapport with. And, importantly, they’ve got to fit the vibe of the group and get along with all your friends. If they can’t hang, it’s going to ruin the party!

Everyone’s idea of a good time is different, and that’s why so many bachelor and bachelorette trips end in chaos. It’s usually one person doing all the planning, and oftentimes the other guests will just show up, having given 0 input on the planning. Sometimes they don’t even know the itinerary until they get there! So if one person’s ideal bach weekend is relaxing poolside with their friends, while another’s is exploring the city from sun up to sun down, there’s bound to be some kind of clash. Not to mention age differences. Age isn’t everything, but if you’re in your 40s, you probably can’t party as hard as the 20-year-olds in the group, and you’ll have to account for that by trying to plan a variety of activities to make everyone happy.

This person ended up with a very wholesome bachelor weekend, which happened totally by accident. You can check out the full story below! As they shared, they sent a text to the wrong person. Instead of inviting David from college, they invited David from accounting. This could’ve gone down badly — at 58 years old, David could’ve just wanted to nap in a hammock the whole time, or could’ve had nothing in common with the other guys. But, in a wonderful stroke of luck, accounting David took the invite in stride, and made a lifelong friend while doing so.
