BREATHING KILLS: EPA DECIDES YOUR HEALTH HAS NO PRICE TAG

A toxic cloud is rising over America, and the government just gave it a green light. The Environmental Protection Agency has made a SHOCKING reversal: it will NO LONGER calculate the dollar value of lives saved by cutting deadly air pollution.

This isn’t just a paperwork change. It’s a DEATH WARRANT disguised as policy.

The move is buried in a new rule that weakens pollution standards for coal and gas power plants—the very sources of soot and smog that choke our lungs. The agency claims there’s “too much uncertainty” to put a price on preventing asthma attacks, heart disease, and dementia. But the only thing uncertain now is how many Americans will get sick and die.

“I’m worried about what this could mean for health,” warns Harvard pulmonologist Dr. Mary Rice, pointing to risks for children, the elderly, and millions with asthma. For decades, cleaning up this pollution saved over 230,000 lives and BILLIONS of dollars annually. Now, those lives are officially worth NOTHING on the EPA’s balance sheet.

Who wins? Polluting industries. Their costs to comply are still counted. But the benefits of saving your family? ERASED. “It looks good only because you ignore the main consequence… the additional negative impact on public health,” says NYU law expert Richard Revesz. This is a calculated strategy to roll back protections by pretending the human toll doesn’t exist.

This assault isn’t limited to the air we breathe. The Trump EPA is systematically dismantling how it values American lives across the board—from car emissions to the climate crisis itself. Administrator Lee Zeldin’s priority is to “lower the cost” for corporations, while the real cost is measured in emergency rooms and funeral homes.

The government has decided your right to breathe clean air is an unaffordable luxury.
