The purpose of this “sunrise” wedding continued to confound me. Sure, it might be beautiful to have your wedding pictures taken with a beautiful backdrop, but in reality, is it worth it when all of your guests will inevitably be cranky because they had to get up so early for this ceremony?
Some wedding ideas are fun in theory, but in practice, they just don’t make sense. This often comes down to the happy couple needing to step outside of their own visions of what they want in order to put themselves in the shoes of their guests. I’ve been to weddings where not providing any food throughout the evening was genuinely considered as a possibility. I’ve also attended ceremonies that were outside despite the fact that it was 30 degrees and below freezing. When these situations occur, nine times out of ten, the people getting married had the opportunity to think twice about an idea but refused to do so. As a result, some guests are going to be upset.
In this case, I’m surprised that more guests were not infuriated at the bride for her insistence on having a 4:00 AM wedding. No, the bridesmaid is not at fault for her mostly minor mistake here. After all, everyone still got ready in time.
