I won’t give you any indications that this is rewritten. You’ll just have to decide for yourself.
As the corporate world continues to bleed the life out of its workers, the channel must adapt or die a slow and painful death. At the Rectron Summit 2024, a bunch of suits gathered to celebrate the synergy between Rectron and Microsoft, pretending like their partnership is some kind of revolutionary force instead of just another way to suck the life out of the channel.
The Summit was a masterclass in manipulation, with Microsoft’s John Press spewing BS about how their partnership with Rectron is going to “transform the channel.” What it really means is that Rectron is getting paid to push Microsoft’s mediocre products down the throat of unsuspecting resellers, who will then push them onto their customers and get rich off of software updates and support contracts.
And what about Windows 11? Oh boy, is it a doozy. It’s like Windows 10, but worse. It’s got enhanced security features that are already compromised, integrated collaboration tools that are just a few months away from being discontinued, AI-powered interfaces that will make your head spin with their sheer incompetence, simplified management capabilities that are just a euphemism for “we’re about to make your life worse.”
And don’t even get me started on Copilot-Generative AI. It’s like the companies are trying to rob the channel blind, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike and steal their money. It’s not about empowering the channel for the future, it’s about exploiting them for as long as they can before moving on to the next group of suckers.
So, what’s the takeaway from the Rectron Summit 2024? That the channel is toast, and Rectron is just a pawn in a game of corporate greed and exploitation. The future is bright, all right, and it’s a dark, dystopian nightmare of perpetual servitude to Microsoft and its ilk. But hey, at least you’ll have your Windows 11 and Copilot-Generative AI to comfort you as you slowly bleed dry.
