This is her moment.

Is AMC ready to go real wild while we’re bumping this? Charli XCX’s The Moment dropped its official trailer on December 11, giving the world its first prolonged look at the tour mockumentary “based on an original idea by Charli XCX.” A
“vaguely true” version of Charli is in the midst of a music machine that may be moving faster than she can keep up with it. “The second people are getting sick of you, that’s when you have to go even harder,” Kylie Jenner advises her. Many of the trailer’s laugh lines are due to Alexander Skarsgård, who plays a show director who doesn’t fully get it. “She’s singing about cocaine,” Charli’s assistant tells him. He’s confused: “Literally or metaphorically?” In response, she asks, “What’s metaphorical cocaine?” Then, in the grand finale, he sticks Charli inside a giant, sparkly lighter that spurts fire. “Why would I be inside it if it’s on fire?” Charli asks, already inside the set piece. Then, the thing erupts.
In addition to Charli and Skarsgård, The Moment stars Rosanna Arquette as a demanding label manager, Hailey Benton Gates as Charli’s assistant, along with Jamie Demetriou (Fleabag), Kate Berlant, and Rachel Sennott. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the film will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, which begins January 27, 2026. It will then be in wide release on January 30. Should we do a little key grip? Should we say a little line?
