Thankfully, it seems like this man was in a jovial enough mood to understand his errors and vow to come in another time once he gathers all the correct information. Most other people in this position would refuse to accept their own culpability in the matter and would proceed to throw a gigantic fit over the fact that they can’t get their passport renewed in that very moment. Most people would make it seem like the DMV employee is at fault for not being helpful. As much as we like to claim that the DMV is the most miserable place on earth, the truth of the matter is that some folks do have some agency in making their own experiences there slightly more bearable.
