AMERICAN NIGHTMARE BECOMES AMERICAN REALITY. The U.S. military, on the direct orders of a RETURNING President Donald Trump, has SEIZED a sitting foreign head of state. In a SHOCKING act of unprecedented international aggression, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was reportedly CAPTURED and taken into U.S. custody, setting a terrifying global precedent that authoritarian leaders can now be ABDUCTED by American force. This is not diplomacy. This is NOT justice. This is REGIME CHANGE by raw, unilateral power, plunging Latin America into a vortex of uncertainty and fear.

In the eye of this political hurricane, a New Yorker cartoonist saw a chilling historical echo. Barry Blitt’s cover for the impending issue depicts Trump not as a liberator, but as a modern-day Gilded Age TYRANT, his visage—now permanently scarred into the American psyche—presiding over this brazen power grab. “His features are chiselled into my visual memory, and I’m not particularly thrilled about it,” Blitt admitted, a damning indictment from a chronicler of our darkest moments. This image is a SCREAM of protest from the artistic elite, a last-ditch warning that the rules-based order is DEAD, replaced by the whims of a strongman.
