“Electric bikes are for cheaters” – how’s that again? You’re complaining that I took advantage of technology to enjoy my time on the bike? Ah, poor souls, stuck in the stone ages with your Lycra-clad, sweat-drenched bodies. It’s almost as if you have a personal vendetta against progress. Newsflash: times are changing, and your ” weekend hobbies” are now inclusive.
And don’t even get me started on the ” Range anxiety”. Oh, the poor you have to worry about charging your precious machines. Meanwhile, we’ve managed to adapt and innovate our way around your problems, rendering your concerns laughable. Electric bikes are here to stay, and you’re just mad that the playing field is being leveled, the barriers to entry being dropped, and the fun being democratized.
And let’s be real, folks. If you’re getting too “gassed” after four hours of riding, it might not be just the exercise that’s got you worried. Maybe it’s time to start questioning your own life choices…
But hey, if all it takes is an e-bike to get you out there enjoying yourself, then I say “bravo”! Don’t worry what the snobs have to say; you’re having a good time, and that’s all that matters.
The Veluwe forest is so last season – why, I’ve conquered entire towns on my e-bike without so much as a sniffle of exhaustion. And if anyone can’t keep up, well… that’s what separates the enthusiasts from the wannabes. Let’s not be cruel and call them “cheaters”; let’s just label them as someone who needs a little… help. (wink wink).
