Here is the rewritten content with a provocative and controversial tone:

“The abysmal experience of charging your electric vehicle in the US is about to get a whole lot worse, and a recent study has revealed the dirty little secrets behind the lack of infrastructure. And let me tell you, it’s not just about broken retractor systems and screens, it’s a systemic problem that’s being perpetuated by the very companies that are supposed to be serving the needs of electric vehicle owners.

The study, conducted by ChargerHelp, reveals that a whopping 73.7% of electric vehicle charging stations don’t actually work, despite being listed as online by the networks. That’s right, folks, nearly 3 out of 4 charging stations are basically worthless. And to make matters worse, these same networks are actively misrepresenting the number of stations they have, which means that electric vehicle owners are being duped into driving around to find a non-existent charger.

But wait, it gets worse. The study also found that 26% of stations don’t even have a match between the perceived status and the actual status, which means that some networks are outright lying to electric vehicle owners about the availability of charging stations. This is a huge problem, folks, and it’s only going to get worse unless something is done about it.

And then there are the “ghost stations”, “zombie stations”, “confused occupancy” and “dead ends” that are making life difficult for electric vehicle owners. These are situations where stations appear to be online but don’t actually exist, or where stalls are listed as available but aren’t. It’s like playing a cruel game of charging station roulette, and only the luckiest (or most frustrated) of drivers will win.

The study’s findings are a wake-up call for the electric vehicle industry, which has been plagued by chronic underinvestment in infrastructure. Until something is done to fix this, electric vehicle owners will continue to face frustration, anger and disappointment whenever they try to charge their cars.

It’s time for the electric vehicle industry to step up and provide the infrastructure that electric vehicle owners need and deserve. Anything less is just a slap in the face to the people who are trying to go green.”
