Look, like many compulsive people, I understand the impulse to clean my surroundings. However, when it comes to communal spaces like office environments, the last thing I want to do is clean up other people’s things. This is not only out of a desire for other folks to handle their own tasks, but it’s also out of fear of touching something that is not mine. Even if something is aesthetically unappealing to me, unless it’s mine to deal with, I’m not going to go anywhere near discarding that item without asking first.
