Bravo! What an idea!
Was this person burning bridges with the boss? Well, yes, probably. That relationship is probably toast, because no one wants to be made to feel like they’re incompetent (especially when they have to literally beg an ex-employee for help). But who cares? At the end of the day, this person pocketed a cool $450, and they’re already at their new job.
I wonder if the boss would still honor his deal about the recommendation letter, though. He’s probably got to be considered a bad reference now. Let’s hope this person remains at their current job long enough to scrounge up some new references for the next time they move between jobs.
