Do you ever look over at some of your coworkers and wonder what it is that they do every single day?
Every office has at least one employee like that. Someone who no one really knows what they do, who always looks like they are just sitting around the office and waiting for 5 PM so they can finally leave. Usually, we don’t think too much about that one employee. If someone hired them, and if they are still around, surely they must be doing something worthwhile to justify their employment, right?
Well, as it turns out, that is not necessarily the case.
Sometimes, an employee can actually get away with doing nothing, while still being able to convince their coworkers and even their boss that they are a valuable member of the company. Still, they must be careful if they want to keep their jobs, because all it takes is one coworker who notices that something is fishy, and their entire ruse can collapse within a week, which is exactly what happened in the story below.
Suzy is a lazy employee whose job is to support other employees when their hands get too full with assignments. Her entire job is to help others when things get busy by taking over the urgent tasks they can’t get around to doing. However, as mentioned, Suzy is lazy, and she doesn’t really want to do someone else’s assignments, even if her schedule is completely free. So you know what Suzy does to get out of these tasks?
Suzy lies.
She tells people that she’s too busy to take over their assignment, while in reality, she does nothing at all. Her manager doesn’t notice, and her coworkers believe her lies. Well, every coworker except one, who completely saw through her deceit and decided they could not let it slide. After Suzy refused to take over one of their urgent assignments, they decided to catch Suzy in a lie and prove to the entire company that she is a lazy employee who does not deserve to be there.
It didn’t take long before Suzy herself was caught in a lie, right in front of the boss. It also didn’t take long for the boss to start looking for her replacement…
