The 2026 Golden Globes nominations have officially released—and it has definitely been worth the wait to see which of our favorite movies, shows, and actors have been nominated.
Having gone through the entire list of nominations, I was pleasantly surprised with some nominations, taken aback by the snubs, and mostly left confused with some interesting names in the list. It’s a lot to digest, so I’ll make it easier for you. Here are the highlights, snubs, and questionable nominations from the 2026 Golden Globes:
1.
Cynthia Erivo has made history as the first black woman to be nominated twice for the same category—Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for Wicked: For Good.
2.
One Battle After Another leads the nomination race with nine nominations for a motion picture at the 2026 Golden Globes.
3.
One of the best horror films of 2025, Sinners, earned 7 nominations—and Michael B. Jordan has earned his first ever Best Actor nomination for the film.
4.
Indie studio Neon is a big winner with 21 nominations, including five of the six international film nominees.
5.
Jacob Elordi has scored two nominations for both a limited series (Narrow Road To The Deep End), and a film (Frankenstein).
6.
Marty Supreme has scored nominations for best actor, best screenplay, and best comedy or musical category—but the director and supporting actress nominations were snubbed for the film.
7.
Box office achievement nominations include F1, Sinners, this year’s most popular Netflix film, K-pop Demon Hunters, and a film that has not yet been released, Avatar: Fire And Ash—all of which have raised questions around this esteemed category.
8.
While people celebrate Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s nominations, Wicked: For Good has been snubbed for Best Comedy or Musical—one category many thought was to be secured by the film.
10.
And finally, the introduction of a new category, Best Podcasts, has left people skeptical of placing podcasts in the same award show as films and TV shows.
Yikes—plenty of these nominations were predictable, but a few came out of nowhere. Now I’m even more invested in the final results, especially for the box office achievement category, considering some of those eyebrow-raising choices.
The 2026 Golden Globes will air on January 11, 2026.
