When your job is on the line, you can’t mess around — and that’s exactly why this delivery driver went straight to the top, calling corporate to explain what went wrong.
Food delivery has never been more popular! You can get almost any food, or product, delivered to your home in the blink of an eye. Food delivery from restaurants is especially fast. You can order pizza or a burger and have it show up within 40 minutes. A lot of people have gotten used to this level of convenience, and order from food delivery services constantly, even multiple times per day.
Because food delivery is so popular though, and because those costs do add up quickly, sometimes delivery “hacks” float around online. For a while, a popular delivery “hack” involved getting your food, then claiming that you didn’t get it at all. You could get your money back on the app, and you probably wouldn’t get penalized for it. But you know who does get punished for that? The driver. And they get punished pretty severely, with consequences as bad as losing your job entirely. The customer is just thinking about getting that free food, never considering what would happen to the very person who delivered their food to them. It’s very impolite for a customer to do this, and obviously unethical, and this is the type of customer who should be banned from the app ASAP for all the trouble he caused.
