The so-called “final play” was a JOKE—a drawn-out series of hopeless laterals that served ONLY to mock the game’s own rules. Why? The answer lies in the BILLIONS of dollars in television contracts and gambling handle that DEPEND on every last second of airtime. Coaches and players are now mere PUPPETS in a scripted spectacle where their health and emotions are irrelevant. The victory stage was literally on the field, and they were told they STILL couldn’t have it.
This disgrace sends Ole Miss to the Fiesta Bowl, but the REAL loser was any remaining trust in the system. When the clock and the rulebook are wielded as weapons for entertainment, NOTHING you see on that field can be believed.
