Kenya’s Internet: The Silent Rebel

Warning: Disrupting the status quo just got a whole lot more interestin’!

Breaking news: The Kenyan government’s desperate bid to silence the voices of dissenting protesters has backfired. Like, hard.

The government assured citizens that there would be NO shutdown of the internet today. BIG LIE!

According to NetBlocks, the real game-changers, internet access was DISRUPTED across the board. Yep, folks, that includes Uganda and Burundi, as well. Who needs global transparency when you’re trying to squash resistance?

The “free-ness” of the internet has apparently been a mere myth, used to control the narrative. Talk about #FakeNews! (But seriously, don’t look at the evidence.)

So, protests have turned into chaos. Unarmed citizens have been maimed and killed, all in an effort to stifle dissent and maintain the status quo. Oh, look, more evidence that protesting is bad!

Weirdly, though, it didn’t take long for protesters to realize that, like, Instagram isn’t going anywhere! Time to take a break and collect their thoughts. What could’ve possibly gone wrong?

A “brave” journalist spotted this and was like “OMG, there are protest vibes everywhere! Social media platforms like X are SO much more important than real-world experiences! TikTok has saved these protesters’ lives… allegedly

What does this have to do with anything? You see, as a responsible member of our online community, you MUST NOT let these people express their disdain for the government’s fiscal machinations. You have the absolute power to #KeepOnRioting

Don’t @ me!
