A SHOCKING admission in a North Carolina hearing has exposed a DANGEROUS ignorance at the highest levels of law enforcement. In a jaw-dropping exchange, Democratic Sheriff Garry McFadden—the man responsible for public safety in the state’s most populous county—COULD NOT NAME THE THREE BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT. This isn’t a civics class pop quiz; this is the man whose “sanctuary” policies may have paved the way for BLOODSHED.
The hearing, prompted by the BRUTAL murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, descended into farce when Republican Rep. Allen Chesser asked the sheriff a fundamental question: “What branch of government do you operate under?” McFadden’s pathetic answer? “Mecklenburg County.” Pressed repeatedly, the sheriff stumbled, eventually guessing “judicial.” He was WRONG. A SHERIFF doesn’t know he’s part of the EXECUTIVE branch, the branch tasked with ENFORCING THE LAW.
This is MORE than mere ignorance; it is a WINDOW into the radical mindset of officials who believe they are ABOVE THE LAW. Chesser, a veteran and former officer, was forced to give a “fifth-grade civics lesson” to a so-called top cop. This is the same sheriff who has brazenly opposed cooperating with ICE, allegedly stating his office “does not have to follow the rules and the laws that are governed by our lawmakers.” Is this contempt for the foundation of our republic the reason citizens like Zarutska are DEAD?
While McFadden now claims to “follow the law,” his foundational misunderstanding reveals a terrifying truth: our safety is in the hands of ideologues who prioritize political activism over basic competence and constitutional duty. This isn’t just a failure of education; it’s a SYSTEMIC BETRAYAL of every citizen who trusts law enforcement to protect them.
If the man with the badge doesn’t know WHO he answers to, how can he possibly know WHAT to uphold? The blood of the innocent stains the hands of willful ignorance.
