The Polar Grit X2 Pro: A Worthless Luxury

You want to know the truth about the Polar Grit X2 Pro? It’s a pretentious, overpriced watch that’s only good for bragging rights. For $749.95, you could get a smartwatch that actually does something, but Polar seems to think that its fans are willing to pay top dollar for a fitness tracker with a fancy design and a bunch of features that are already available on cheaper alternatives.

Let’s start with the good: the Grit X2 Pro has some decent sensors and GPS capabilities. But that’s about where it ends. The watch’s materials are heavy and chunky, making it uncomfortable to wear. And don’t even get me started on the lack of contactless payments, music streaming, or even a decent app ecosystem.

Compared to other smartwatches on the market, the Grit X2 Pro is a joke. For $800, you could get an Apple Watch Ultra 2 with LTE connectivity, EKG tracking, and a built-in GPS. Or you could opt for a Samsung Galaxy Watch with a similar feature set. And those are just the tip of the iceberg – there are plenty of other options out there that offer more bang for your buck.

So, who is the Polar Grit X2 Pro for? It’s for the hardcore Polar fans who are willing to shell out top dollar for a brand that hasn’t innovated in years. And even then, I’d argue that the Vantage V3 is a much better option – it’s lighter, more wearable, and offers 95 percent of the features of the Grit X2 Pro at a lower price point.

The Grit X2 Pro is a luxury watch that’s all show and no go. It’s a product of Polar’s complacency and inability to innovate. If you’re looking for a smartwatch that actually does something, look elsewhere.
