Maksim Chmerkovskiy is addressing the possibility of returning to Dancing with the Stars.
The 45-year-old pro dancer appeared on 17 seasons of the ABC dance competition series before stepping away in 2017 after season 25. During his time on the show, he won the mirrorball trophy once in season 18 with partner Meryl Davis.
In a new interview, Maks revealed if he would consider returning to DWTS.

He then noted that the question of his return is not “can I do it,” but would he do it.
“I’m looking forward to so much more dancing out of my body,” Maks explained. “I’m in maintenance every day for the last 25 years. I don’t see where that’s going to go, and I’m looking forward to creative processes. [But] I also think Dancing With the Stars is a moving entity, and it just needs to move. And we all just moved a little bit different directions.”
He clarified that he is not “saying that I wouldn’t want to. I just don’t think there would be space for me, especially in the format that it is today. I can’t fathom doing so much social media, and without it, how do you win?”
He also admitted that now that he’s a dad of three, he doesn’t want to spend that much time away from his kids.
If you didn’t know, Maks and fellow DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd married in 2017 and they share three sons – Shai, 8, Rio, 2, and Milan, 1.
“With the kids, it’s so hard,” he added. “It’s very tough.”
