Neighbor sneakily steals electricity from 29 and 30-year-old neighbors, blames daughter: ‘That’s our electricity you’re plugged into’ – FAIL Blog

This woman hasn’t been subtle about pilfering her neighbor’s electricity, especially because she left a cable plugged into their outdoor socket!

I think that paying for utilities is one of the most infuriating parts of adult life. Like what do you mean it costs money to take a shower, or do dishes with hot water, or to use my own lightbulbs to light up my apartment? That should be free! Objectively, I know why it costs money, but I disagree with the status quo. It’s just super annoying to have to pay for these things that should just be available to us all for free. I’m pretty sure the electricity is just hanging out in the wires, just let me have like, 5 zaps of it! That tap water is already coursing through the pipes, so I would like a few sips for free!

If your electricity bill is crazy high, there are certain ways you can reduce it. For example, you might want to hang out at a library or a coffee shop so that you can charge up all your electronics and use their lights for a while before heading home. How practical! There are also whimsical ways to deal with this burden. You could have your dinners by candlelight, which comes with the opportunity to pretend you’re in the 1600s, eating bread and cheese and wondering when your husband will return from sea. You can literally wander around with a lit taper candle in your hand like you’re in “A Christmas Carol,” saving you money and giving you the chance to pretend you’re about to meet several ghosts of Christmas.

Or, on a serious note, you could ask your landlord for help paying for that heat and water. Perhaps you reach out to a friend, a family member, or anyone else you can think of who could lend you a few dollars to get by. Some people have a really tough time in life, and these small comforts mean a lot. If you’re ensouled, like most of us, you probably believe that there’s no reason why they should have to go without. But this is America baby, and these necessities aren’t treated as such by the unfeeling powers that be.

What you probably shouldn’t do is “borrow” some electricity from a neighbor who pays a separate electric bill than you. That’s unfair, and as you can read below, this neighbor tried to start a texting pity-party as she defended her actions. As this person noted, they have a young child themselves — even though this neighbor is demanding they pity her, she’s not even caring about the fact that they have their own lives and money issues to worry about. Check out their text conversation below and see who you side with on this issue — does the neighbor’s defense make her actions excusable?
