CHAOS IN KZN: The ONE WOMAN Standing Between Anarchy and Power—And Her Own Party Just BETRAYED Her

A single vote is all that’s holding South Africa’s most critical province together. And now, the kingmakers are circling, ready to SHATTER it for a backroom deal.

This is political WAR. The National Freedom Party (NFP), a tiny group with just 0.12% of the vote, has become the explosive center of a dangerous power grab in KwaZulu-Natal. Their leader, Ivan Barnes, has SUSPENDED his party’s only member in the legislature, Mbali Shinga, for REFUSING to obey his order to collapse the government. Her crime? She stopped the MK party and EFF from seizing control in a chaotic takeover bid last December. PHOTO: Mbali Shinga stands alone, facing a disciplinary hearing. Barnes claims his party is a “mighty organisation” being ignored. But behind the scenes, it’s pure CHAOS and horse-trading. A senior DA leader exposes the truth: “Barnes is horse-trading. He is waiting for an offer.” He was caught meeting Jacob Zuma before GPU talks, then demanded to be a district mayor. This isn’t about service delivery—it’s about POSITION and POWER.

While Barnes denies a leadership crisis, he’s actively trying to destroy the one person who upheld her oath to the people. Shinga defiantly states, “I am not leaving the legislature. I was voted for by the people.” But her own party is throwing her to the wolves in a “disciplinary hearing” that she already calls unfair.

Who benefits from this instability? The MK party and its allies, who need that ONE VOTE to ignite a provincial takeover. The NFP’s leaders scream about being “stabbed in the back” by their GPU partners, but their actions reveal a darker game: paralyze the government, create crisis, and auction their loyalty to the highest bidder.

One cabinet member warned this “needs to be taken seriously.” They’re right. This isn’t just political gamesmanship—it’s a deliberate sabotage of democracy for a handful of seats at the table.

They are selling the province’s future, and they’ve already sold out the only person with the courage to say no.
