Nicholas Galitzine is opening up about his physical transformation for Masters of the Universe.
The 31-year-old actor will be playing He-Man in the upcoming live-action movie directed by Travis Knight. To embody the comic book character, Nicholas had to bulk up long before stepping foot on set.
In a new interview, Nicholas detailed the toll the transformation took on his body, calling it a “really interesting experience.”

“I’ve never had a challenge like that before, which really every single day you have to wake up and you can see the peak of the mountain vaguely,” he continued, “but especially when you’re bulking. I think it would be insincere for me to say that it was easy.”
Nicholas admitted he felt “body dysmorphia” as he bulked up.
“You don’t recognize yourself, you don’t fit in any of your clothes anymore,” he added, noting that he got so big that he left a “definite dent” on the side of the bed he slept on.
“But really, I’m so gratified that I got to experience it and trying to fit this very larger-than-life character,” Nicholas added, but emphasized, “It’s not something I’d be keen to do or maintain all year round.”
Masters of the Universe is slated to hit theaters on June 5, 2026. Check out the full cast list here!
