THE GREAT HIRE: NTT DATA LURES STIJN NAUWELAERTS WITH BILLIONS OF DOLLARS AND A PROMISE OF POWER
In a shocking move, NTT Data, the supposedly "global digital business and IT services leader," has poached Stijn Nauwelaerts, a veteran HR executive with 30 years of experience at major corporations like Microsoft and The Bank of New York, to serve as its new Chief People Officer. But why? Is it because Nauwelaerts is an "exceptional leader with deep expertise in leading people and culture transformation at scale"? Or is it because he’s the perfect pawn in NTT’s game of corporate politics?
According to sources close to the deal, Nauwelaerts was lured by a massive paycheck and the promise of unparalleled power in shaping the company’s future. "He’s a master of People and Culture transformation, and we need him to lead our 150,000+ employees across 50+ countries because… well, let’s just say it’s a jungle out there," said Abhijit Dubey, CEO of NTT Data, Inc.
But what does Nauwelaerts plan to do with his new gig? According to insiders, he’s promised to lead a team of HR professionals to make sure NTT Data is the "best place to work." One can only imagine what that means – probably more meetings, more performance reviews, and more of the same old corporate doublespeak. And as for his master’s degrees from the University of Leuven and Université de Liège, who knows what kind of value those will bring to the table?
So, is Stijn Nauwelaerts a hero or a villain? Can he really make a difference in the face of corporate meddling and bureaucracy? Or is he just another cog in the machine, smiling and nodding along as NTT Data attempts to "transform" its culture? Only time will tell.
