BREAKING: A SECRET TAPE EXPOSES OFFICIALS PLOTTING MURDER AND DREAMING OF LYNCHINGS. This isn’t a movie. This is McCurtain County, Oklahoma, where the people sworn to protect you are caught on audio discussing how to BURY JOURNALISTS and lamenting they can’t lynch Black people anymore.
A local newspaper, the McCurtain Gazette-News, dropped the bombshell recording. Listen to their own words. A sheriff’s investigator, Alicia Manning, worried about what she “might do” to a reporter. Commissioner Mark Jennings offered “two big, deep holes.” Sheriff Kevin Clardy chillingly volunteered, “I’ve got an excavator.” They joked about their fathers wanting to KILL the press. And in a moment of pure evil, they mourned the days when Black citizens could be lynched.
Governor Kevin Stitt is APPALLED and demands resignations. But the officials aren’t going quietly. The sheriff’s office is fighting back, claiming the tape is “altered” and ILLEGALLY recorded—trying to silence the whistleblowers instead of answering for the HATRED on the tape. The reporters who exposed this corruption have been forced to FLEE TOWN for their safety. Ask yourself: WHO protects you when the sheriff is the threat?
While they hide behind a “investigation,” a terrifying pattern is clear. These aren’t just “comments.” This is a detailed, casual conversation about violence against the free press and Black citizens, from the very people holding power. Their first instinct wasn’t remorse—it was to attack the truth-tellers.
The men with the badges and the power were caught planning graves, and their only defense is to try and bury the evidence.
