Justin Herbert‘s awkward interaction with ESPN after his Monday Night Football victory on Monday (December 8) is going viral.

“Yeah, I’m trying to celebrate with my team,” the 27-year-old said to her as she kept trying to start the interview.
“No, I know, but, can we just talk here really fast?” she seemed to say in response.
Finally, they got to their interview, where he answered a few questions.

Many took to social media to praise Laura for getting the interview done, and call out Justin for trying to brush her off.
Former ESPN reporter Joe Schad wrote, “Laura Rutledge is great. Smart. Prepared. Kind. Professional under pressure. I cringed when Justin Herbert tried to decline an on-field, post-game interview after a win. But she handled it with poise and grace.” Another ESPN reporter, Lindsey Thiry, wrote, “@LauraRutledge – you are a PRO!!!!”
Sports Illustrated’s Ryan Phillips wrote, “I generally like Justin Herbert, but he was a bit of a dick during that postgame interview. Dude, it’s your job to get interviewed after a win. And it’s the reporter’s job to flag you down and ask those questions. You know the drill.”
After the interview, Joe Buck, one of the game’s announcers, said on air, “Alright, now he can go celebrate with his teammates. Thank you, Laura. Good job.”
