The Actor Awards — which returns for a 32nd edition next March with a new name — has announced its production team for the landmark ceremony. The event, formerly known as the SAG Awards (and, as always, is presented by SAG-AFTRA) will bring back Silent House Productions for the third consecutive year to produce the live Netflix telecast.
As part of the announcement, Jon Brockett has added “showrunner” to his duties, marking a promotion for the kudocast. This reps the first time the Actor/SAG Awards have had a showrunner; Brockett will also continue as an executive producer. Silent House Productions’ Baz Halpin, Mark Bracco and Linda Gierahn will also continue as executive producers. The 32nd annual Actor Awards streams live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall on Sunday, March 1, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
SAG-AFTRA announced last month that the Screen Actors Guild Awards will now be known as “The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA.” The move was made to better align the name of the awards show with the name of the statue that is handed out (something that is already the case with the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and Golden Globes). In this case, the physical SAG Awards trophy has been known as the “Actor” since the launch of the ceremony in 1995.
Joing the executive producers are DGA Award winner Russell Norman (“America’s Got Talent,” “Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic,” the “Friends” reunion special) as director. And Matt Steinbrenner (MTV Video Music Awards, “Opry100: A Live Celebration”) joins as production designer while Steven Murphy (MTV Video Music Awards, Netflix Tudum 2025) will serve as head writer.
The Actor Awards committee members JoBeth Williams, Daryl Anderson, Jason George, Woody Schultz, Elizabeth McLaughlin and Joely Fisher will serve as producers for SAG-AFTRA. Jeneine Doucette-White is co-executive producer, Benn Fleishman is producer, Jen Coyne-Hoerle returns as supervising producer, Andrew Dockser is creative producer and Gloria Fujita O’Brien is back as consulting producer. Adam Cohen and Jeremy Tominberg return as line producers.
Maggie Barrett Caulfield is back as a head of talent and co-producer, talent producers are Sarah Cowperthwaite and Joe Petrovich.
As showrunner, Brockett will continue to oversee the annual Actor Awards telecast and related operations, including SAG-AFTRA’s Special Projects department. He’s also The Actor Awards’ liaison to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, the show’s primary beneficiary. Brockett has spent two decades working on the show.
Silent House Productions also handled the 30th and 31st SAG Awards on Netflix. Other recent credits include “Opry100: A Live Celebration,” the Emmy-winning “Noche UFC” at Sphere Las Vegas, Netflix’s “Tudum 2025,” the 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the film “Taylor Swift — The Eras Tour” for AMC Theaters and the upcoming concert film “Taylor Swift I The Eras Tour I The Final Show” for Disney+.
Silent House also won a Primetime Emmy Award in the outstanding variety special (pre-recorded) category for their work on “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love.”
