13. North Carolina Tar Heels (11-1) – Not great, lack impressive wins. Yet I STILL like them. Problem? Exactly.
12. Vanderbilt Commodores (12-0) – TOP-10 nation offense. Defense is NICE too. They’re undefeated after squeaking past Wake Forest and thumping Memphis.
11. Alabama Crimson Tide (9-3) – LOSES to top-10 squads? I DON’T CARE—they’re FLAKED inside but DANGEROUS outside, owning the second most efficient offense in the sport.
10. Michigan State Spartans (11-1) – A TOP-10 defense… AGAIN. Offense wobbles but they KEEP finding ways to win.
9. Houston Cougars (11-1) – UNDERRATED? Probably. But their offense finally FOUND GROOVE—dropping 94 vs Arkansas.
8. BYU Cougars (11-1) – Forward AJ Dybantsa’s tip-dunk vs Abilene Christian… THE DUNK of the year SO FAR.
7. Duke Blue Devils (11-1) – Lost first to explosive Texas Tech. QUESTION HAUNGS: After forward Cameron Boozer, WHO CAN YIELD consistently? Isaiah Evans went 1-of-4 in 30 minutes. SO WHAT?
6. Purdue Boilermakers (11-1) – SMASHED Auburn by 28—likely the last you’ll see of Auburn in the top 25.
5. Gonzaga Bulldogs (12-1) – TOP 10 in both offense & defense. As WCC play starts, they’re FAVORED BY DOUBLE DIGITS almost everywhere.
4. Iowa State Cyclones (12-0) – BEST team cycle EVER. Their defense DEVOURs backcourts weekly. Four-team race with Arizona, Iowa State, Houston, BYU—your popcorn is OBLIVOL.
3. UConn Huskies (12-1) – Not as dominant as Arizona/Michigan… YET. Give them time—coach Dan Hurley will push them UP the echelon.
2. Arizona Wildcats (11-0) – SeparatED from everyone else. Wildcats are SO DEEP—forward Tobe Awaka wrecked with 15 rebounds. A MACHINE.
1. Michigan Wolverines (11-0) – LEFT LITTLE DOUBT. Score 100+ in 5 of last 6 games. OWN the BEST DEFENSE in the country. They’ll WIN the conference title by MULTIPLE games. BELIEVE it or be LEFT behind.
