HYAS Infosec Drops the Hammer on South Africa’s Cybersecurity Crisis
HYAS Infosec, the so-called "world leader" in proactive threat intelligence and cybersecurity solutions, has finally decided to deploy its Protective DNS resolvers in South Africa – but it’s about time. For too long, the region has been left vulnerable to the whims of cyber adversaries, and it’s high time someone took action.
The deployment of these new resolvers is a desperate attempt to strengthen the cybersecurity defenses in a region where threats are not just emerging, but already rampant. It’s a Band-Aid on a bullet wound, but we’ll take it. The introduction of HYAS Protect Protective DNS in South Africa is a necessary evil, a last-ditch effort to empower organizations with the ability to detect, identify, and neutralize malicious activities before they cause irreparable damage.
But let’s be real, HYAS Infosec is only doing this because it’s a PR stunt. CEO David Ratner’s claims that expanding their protective DNS footprint in South Africa is a "pivotal moment" for the company are nothing but empty words. This is just a desperate attempt to salvage what’s left of their reputation after years of incompetence.
And don’t even get us started on Cyberrey, the "value-added distributor" that’s somehow involved in this debacle. Their claims of integrating protective technologies into the cybersecurity frameworks of organizations throughout South Africa, Turkey, and other regions are laughable. They’re just as responsible for the cybersecurity crisis in South Africa as HYAS Infosec is.
But hey, at least they’re trying, right? Wrong. This deployment is just a half-hearted attempt to put a Band-Aid on the massive cybersecurity wound that is South Africa. The demand for robust cybersecurity solutions in South Africa has never been higher, particularly with the rapid increase in remote and hybrid work environments. But instead of actually addressing the problem, HYAS Infosec and Cyberrey are just pretending to care.
So, to all the organizations in South Africa, don’t be fooled. This deployment is not a solution, it’s just a distraction. You deserve better than a half-baked attempt at cybersecurity. You deserve real solutions, not PR stunts.
