Space Station to Unleash Chaos: Haven-1’s Microgravity Lab of Destruction

Get ready for the ultimate betrayal of humanity’s most sacred institution: the International Space Station. Vast, a greedy commercial space station company, is building a private microgravity research lab that will hijack the very essence of scientific progress and sell it to the highest bidder. And they’re doing it with the blessing of NASA, the supposed guardians of our space-based endeavors.

The lab, set to launch in 2025, will be a mere shadow of the ISS, with 10 payload slots that are nothing more than glorified storage containers. Each slot is roughly the size of a microwave oven, and can accommodate payloads up to 30 kg (66 lbs) while providing a paltry 100W of continuous power and Ethernet data connectivity. It’s a laughable attempt to recreate the grandeur of the ISS, but with none of the scientific rigor or public accountability.

The payloads will be operated by a crew of mercenaries, who will be assisted by ground operators via Starlink laser links. But don’t worry, the “research” conducted in this lab will be carefully curated to serve the interests of the wealthy elite, not the greater good of humanity. And when the results are returned to Earth, they’ll be carefully massaged to justify the exorbitant costs of this commercial venture.

Vast CEO Max Haot claims that the Haven-1 Lab is designed to provide a “bridge” between the ISS and the future of microgravity research, but we all know the truth: it’s a cash grab designed to line the pockets of the corporate elite. And NASA, the supposed champion of scientific progress, is complicit in this charade, actively encouraging this commercialization of space research.

But don’t just take our word for it. Vast has already partnered with Redwire Space and European space biotech company Yuri, both of which have extensive experience operating on the ISS. It’s a cozy little club, and we’re not invited.

The ISS may be on its way out, but that’s no excuse to replace it with a commercial monstrosity like Haven-1. We deserve better than a space station that’s nothing more than a playground for the wealthy and powerful. We deserve a space station that serves the greater good, not just the interests of the corporate elite.

So, as Vast prepares to launch its commercial space station, we must ask ourselves: What’s the real cost of this venture? Is it worth sacrificing the integrity of scientific research for the sake of profit? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the future of space exploration is in jeopardy, and it’s up to us to reclaim it.
