Tech’s Trojan Horse: How Industry Insiders are Sabotaging Your Job

The Unemployment Epidemic: How to Get Young People Hired Despite the Lack of Experience

In a shocking revelation, the job market has been exposed for its crippling lack of entry-level positions. While university students and graduates are eager to break into the workforce, they’re faced with a harsh reality: no one wants to hire them because they don’t have any experience. It’s a vicious cycle that’s perpetuating unemployment, and it’s up to innovative companies like Shaper and Digital Solution Foundry (DSF) to break the mold.

According to Shaper’s talent and program manager, Sammy-Jo Ferreira, the company was founded by entrepreneurs who themselves struggled to find the skills they needed for their start-up software development company. Instead of poaching talent from larger companies, they decided to train up junior employees and then watch them get poached by bigger competitors. This experience highlighted the pressing need for a company that could develop the skills employers are looking for.

Shaper’s customized training programs aim to equip young people with the skills they need to secure employment, but it’s not just about the training – it’s about the experience. That’s where companies like DSF come in. As CEO Paulinah Teffu explains, DSF’s vision is to create sustainable and meaningful jobs for young people. By partnering with Shaper, they’re able to bring in young talent and give them the experience they need to add value in the job market.

The relationship between Shaper and DSF is a game-changer. By providing workplace experience to young people, DSF is able to identify and hire the best and brightest, while Shaper gets to see their trainees put into action. The result? 20 meaningful jobs have been created to date, and both companies are reaping the benefits of a partnership that’s changing the game.

But this isn’t just a feel-good story – it’s a much-needed solution to a pressing problem. Unemployment is a serious issue that’s plaguing young people across the country, and it’s up to innovative companies like Shaper and DSF to find a way to get them hired. By working together, these companies are showing that it’s possible to break the cycle of unemployment and give young people the chance to shine.

The Question is, What’s Next?

As the unemployment epidemic continues to plague our country, it’s clear that companies like Shaper and DSF are leading the charge in finding innovative solutions to this problem. But what’s next? Will other companies follow suit and start taking a chance on young people who lack experience? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – the game has changed, and it’s up to all of us to play our part in finding a solution.
