BIZARRE! Elon Musk’s Robo-Taxi Design for the LAziest: A Scam or a Sincere Attempt at Revolutionizing Transportation?
Imagine a world where the need for luscious designs and heart-pumping thrills brings you to your knees. In that case, Tesla’s innovative robo-taxi, Cybercab, is the ultimate wet dream for you! With a "chase the money" ethos, Elon Musk revealed this low-slung, two-seat, sporty coupe for the LA-based LAzer crowd ( Los Angeles).
What? No, seriously, what is this, a joke?!
On a more serious note, investors and analysts were puzzled by the Cybercab design, as it defies the fundamental principle of a taxi: to transport more than two people. Twitter was flooded with backlash, with people asking how a two-seater can cater to families, senior citizens, and people with disabilities.
"Making this a two-seater-only car is very perplexing," said Jonathan Elfalan, vehicle testing director at Edmunds.com. "When you think of a cab, you think of something that’s going to carry more than two people."
"You can’t be serious, Elon… Can you?"
The Cybercab, set to hit production in 2026, will boast a $30,000 price tag, which roughly translates to " Rip-Off" for many. With the chaos caused by its design, it’s no wonder investors jeered at the lack of financial detail. Tesla stocks dropped by 9% on the same day.
Musk Mysteriously Avoids Queries
Tesla has refused to comment on the design’s practicality, preferring to keep the focus on its autonomy ambitions. Analysts have expressed worry about the Cybercab’s limited market potential and its inability to compete with established players like Waymo.
Experts Weigh In
"This is just another example of Elon’s ego-driven design choices, ignoring the needs of the masses," said Sandeep Rao, a senior researcher at Leverage Shares. "Two-door vehicles account for only 2% of car sales in the US, excluding SUVs and trucks."
"Tesla needs to focus on building a scalable, practical, and affordable transportation solution, rather than playing to their ego," said Sam Fiorani, vice president at AutoForecast Solutions.
Is This the Beginning of the End for Tesla?
The question on everyone’s mind is whether this design will bleed the company’s valuation from its current $700 billion to a measly $500 million. Elon Musk’s vision is bold, but at what cost?
Will you take the bait and join the LAziest elite or will you stay grounded in reality?
