APPLE ABANDONS THE PAST: FIRST-GEN HOMEPOD, AIRPODS, AND iPhone X NOW CONDEMNED TO OBSCURITY
In a shocking move, Apple has deemed the iPhone X, first-generation AirPods, and original HomePod "vintage" – a euphemism for "abandoned and unsupported". This means that if you still own one of these relics, you’re stuck with a product that’s no longer getting love from the tech giant. Yeah, that’s right, Apple has written off the first-gen HomePod, released just six years ago, as a legacy product.
But don’t worry, it’s not like you can just take it to an Apple store for a repair. Oh no, that’s just not how it works anymore. You’re on your own, pal. And if you’re like me, and you still have multiple OG HomePods scattered around your house, you might want to start dusting off those old repair skills.
And let’s not forget the first-gen AirPods and iPhone X. Those were the days, folks. The iPhone X was the first phone to debut Face ID, and those first AirPods were the game-changer that made wireless earbuds a thing. But now, they’re just footnotes in Apple’s history book.
We should pour one out for these products, because they’re officially ancient history. And who knows, maybe Apple will come out with a retro-themed HomePod Mini or something, just to rub it in our faces.
