Let’s talk about what happens in this video!
Mom is videoing her young daughter and the daughter’s friend. (As she clarifies later, the friend is her roommate’s daughter.)
The friend, who is sitting in the backseat of the car, opens her toy first, and great news — it’s the rare glitter dumpling!
“Well, you know the deal,” the Mom warns the friend. She doesn’t congratulate the girl or anything. The friend doesn’t seem to understand “the deal” because she says, very nicely, that she hopes her friend gets a glitter dumpling, too.
But it was not to be. The daughter’s toy dumpling is just a regular red one. She looks slightly disappointed, only to have her Mom reassure her that, “You’re getting the glitter dumpling I already said. Because I bought them. And then we’ll keep the red one, and we’ll just have to have Brittany get some more and see if she can get lucky.” She then adds that “That’s the deal we made.” Conveniently, she doesn’t pan back to Brittany again. The little girl’s disappointment must’ve been written all over her face.
That’s the first part of the video, and the most interesting portion, because from this point on, Mom is just on a tear. She has several “update for the haters,” accusing them of being impolite and uncaring in a long-winded rant. She truly can’t understand why people think she was being unkind and unfair to her roommate’s child/her daughter’s friend.
It’s quite odd… she clarifies that although only one girl is her daughter, that she treats them identically, which is just patently untrue. If Brittany was your daughter, she would’ve kept the glitter dumpling! Hello?!
