Windows 11’s Dirty Little Secret: Ryzen Owners Get Boosted While Intel Suffers

Windows 11 24H2 Update: The Backroom Deal that Makes Your CPU a Lot Faster (Literally)

The cat’s out of the bag, folks! Microsoft’s upcoming 24H2 update to Windows 11 is no longer just about improving performance for the new Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, as AMD had promised. Nope, it’s now been revealed that this update is going to give a significant boost to older Ryzen CPUs as well. But here’s the kicker: it’s like AMD and Microsoft are in on a secret, and they’re not telling us what’s really going on behind the scenes.

The Numbers are Shocking

Hardware Unboxed has done the testing, and the results are nothing short of astonishing. They found that the older Ryzen 7 7700X got a 10% performance boost on average in multiple games running at 1080p resolution, while the new Ryzen 7 9700X saw an 11% improvement. And if that’s not enough, KitGuru tested the 7800X3D and found similar increases in some games, along with improvements to the older Ryzen 9 7950X. It’s like the 24H2 update is magic or something!

The Truth Hurts

But let’s be real, this news is going to sting for some people. The new Zen 5 desktop CPUs were just launched, and they failed to impress during early reviews. In fact, the previous generation Ryzen 9 7950X looked like better value than AMD’s new flagship Ryzen 9 9950X. So, the 24H2 update is basically giving older CPUs a way to catch up with the new ones.

Microsoft’s Dirty Little Secret

The thing is, Microsoft’s 24H2 update is not just about improving performance for the new CPUs. It’s about bridging the gap between the two architectures. And let’s be honest, it’s a little suspicious that Microsoft is allowing users to download better performance for their CPUs. It’s like they’re hiding something.

Get Your Hands on the 24H2 Update

So, when can you get your hands on this amazing update? Microsoft is expected to release it in late September, but you can opt into the Windows Insider program and enable the Release Preview builds on your PC to get it early. Or, you can clean install or perform the upgrade manually using the ISO files available on Microsoft’s website. But remember, this update is not just about making your CPU faster. It’s about Microsoft and AMD’s secret plan to level the playing field.
