Zootopia 2 is massive.
The Walt Disney Animation Studios sequel recently hit the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office 17 days after release, making it the second film of the year to reach the billion mark behind Lilo & Stitch.
And as of Sunday (December 14), it’s now the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2025.

It brought in $1.13 billion globally after 20 days of release, zooming past Lilo & Stitch‘s $1.03 billion. The only other bigger film is China’s animated blockbuster Ne Zha 2, which brought in $1.9 billion, via Variety.
By pushing past a billion in just 17 days, Zootopia 2 also holds the record for shortest amount of time among animated movies and among all PG-rated films, per THR.
In Zootopia 2, detectives Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.
