I think ideally, the best job is one that gives you the balance you need to have a successful life. You can have a true passion for your line of work, but if all you ever do is work, you’re going to become unhappy in a matter of weeks. Instead, it’s best to aim for a profession where you have some work-life balance: you get paid, but you also get to hang out with your spouse and kids, have the time and money to travel, and have at least a couple days off each week to recuperate.
Even the most well-balanced job can be the wrong choice if you’re stewing in a toxic environment for 40 hours per week. If you have a boss or direct coworkers who make your life misery, you might have to be the one to up and leave, because they sure won’t!
Perhaps these stories will inspire you to reconsider how you feel at your workplace! These people shared their insightful reasons why they quit, and most of them seem way happier in their new roles.
