Many jobs can be done remotely these days, anyways, so why does it matter if I’m doing it from home or from a vacation rental near the beach? Like, I’m still doing it, right? I can take PTO if you’d rather, but if that’s the case, then you will not be able to reach me. Sorry, PTO means I am GONE GONE. No, “oh, I’ll be available on Teams if you need me,” or “Just Slack me if something goes wrong and I’ll try to answer.” None of that. Taking PTO means I am clocked out from work completely.
