If I was in this person’s shoes, next time someone joked about it, I would just look mildly amused, and say, “You’re still talking about that, huh?” The goal would be to make the same coworkers that humiliated her feel uncool. It can’t possibly be that funny!

Of course, she might want to lean into the joke when the next party comes around, and not hold a grudge over it. It may seem like there’s a microscope on her right now, but it won’t last forever.
