Ok, we all know that he not remembering her is a lie. What makes the lie alarming is that he got so caught up in trying to hide it. He could’ve just said: ‘It’s a girl from work’, and it would’ve been fine, but clearly he feels guilty enough to try to hide it. I’m not saying he has been unfaithful; it’s just that maybe this girl is kind of important to him in a way, and he made it worse by pretending he didn’t remember anyone by that name. My theory is that this might be an honest mistake, somebody trying to elude having to explain something minimal, maybe a mild attraction to a colleague from work, that’s it. Plus, you can’t immediately move out if you just moved in, only having this piece of information. I don’t know, I think my stances regarding this kind of stuff are always kind of controversial. People are allowed to have intimate, platonic, mild work crushes while in a relationship, and they’re also not obligated to communicate them to their partners. I know people sometimes think you have to communicate EVERYTHING to the one you love, but if this were the case, what for? To create an insecurity where there should be none? To erase any privacy and sense of self you might have while in a relationship?
