The Cloud Conspiracy: How Huawei’s On-Premises Solution is Disrupting the Status Quo
In a shocking turn of events, Huawei’s Cloud Stack has been quietly gaining traction across Africa, leaving many to wonder if the cloud has finally gone rogue. The on-premises solution, touted as the "preferred cloud for African industry digitisation," is threatening to upend the traditional cloud landscape.
Roc Bai, VP of Huawei Cloud Southern Africa, is spearheading the charge, claiming that the Huawei Cloud Stack is the answer to African enterprises’ prayers. "They want to transform and move from siloed, legacy platforms and achieve stable and localised infrastructure with end-to-end security," he says. "The Huawei Cloud Stack is the best choice to meet these needs."
But what’s behind this sudden surge in popularity? Industry insiders point to the Huawei Cloud Stack’s unique selling points: highly competitive pricing, over 110 cloud services in 13 categories, and enhanced capabilities for AI, industrial internet, data circulation, and software development.
And then there’s GaussDB, Huawei’s AI-native distributed relational database. This game-changing technology is touted as the solution to the age-old problem of database scalability and performance. With GaussDB, enterprises can achieve petabytes of storage, contain more than 1,000 nodes per DB instance, and reduce storage costs by up to 50%.
But is the Huawei Cloud Stack truly the solution to Africa’s cloud conundrum, or is it just a cleverly disguised Trojan horse? As the cloud landscape continues to evolve, one thing is certain: the Huawei Cloud Stack is shaking things up. Will it be the catalyst for a cloud revolution, or a harbinger of chaos? Only time will tell.
What’s your take on the Huawei Cloud Stack? Is it the solution Africa’s enterprises have been waiting for, or just a flash in the pan? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
