You either like artificial intelligence or you don’t. You either use it in the workplace or you don’t. It’s safe to say that most people on Earth don’t have lukewarm opinions about AI. Regardless of what you or I believe, it’s important to remember that some environments either embrace it or forbid it. Which environment do you live in? Does your workplace work with or against artificial intelligence?

Certain fields embrace AI because they consider it ethical and logical. For example, tech companies embrace AI not only because the big tech companies are spearheading the movement, but also because it helps them in their work to make AI better, somehow. More creative careers tend to reject AI because they consider it unethical for their tasks. For example, a writer might not want to use AI because it takes the humanity out of writing. Other writers might embrace AI, for example, writers who specifically specialize in user interface copy. The more creative you get, the less likely you are to embrace the utilization of AI.

This next story showcases a marketing agency that rejects the utilization of AI completely. The person who shares the story explains that they run a marketing agency and pride themselves on hiring employees who turn in 100% human work. Similar to a college course, if they suspect an employee is using AI, they’ll receive a few strikes before they gotta go permanently. Their newest employee signed a contract that explicitly states their stance on AI usage, and how it is 100% unacceptable for workplace-related tasks. Even still, that new employee used AI very soon after their start date at the marketing agency, and continued to do so even after they were caught. Someone catching them once is one thing, but multiple times? Bring back shame!

In all seriousness, what would you do in this situation? If you had the power to fire them, would you? The person who runs the agency let the employee go, and ultimately, feels bad but justified. What are your thoughts? Scroll below to read the full story and sound off in the comments about your stance.
