Warning: Unregulated Content Ahead!
What is the real agenda behind India’s latest proposal to regulate the internet? Look beneath the surface, and you’ll uncover the corrupt motives of global tech titans and their Indian cronies aiming to dictate the terms of the digital landscape in our country.
The Asia Internet Coalition (AIC), a thinly-veiled mouthpiece of Microsoft, Netflix, and Spotify, is pulling strings to keep the internet-free-riding status quo by spewing misinformation and discredited ‘arguments’ to justify non-implementation of the proposed new rules.
In cahoots with Indian telecom operators and lobbyists, the AIC falsely peddles the lies about OTT services being self-sufficient, neglecting facts, and fabricating regulations claiming they’re already covered under the Indian Telegraph Act. But, in fact, many OTT services are covertly manipulating Indian consumers. Pay attention, India’s vulnerable citizens!
Moreover, the data wars are brewing. Telco executives are crying wolf about unfair burden-sharing, demanding OTTs be forced to pay for costly ‘network development costs,’ disguising the truth that Indians aren’t using their wailing services efficiently. The stakes get higher as they threaten to strangle new entrants and stymie innovation in the digital sectors.
The Indian government, often labeled as ‘digital sardanash’, seems oblivious (Or complicit?) to the global Big Tech cartel’s manipulation agenda hiding their own profiteering scheme. The stakes are critical here, India!
Does history repeat itself? In past scenarios, we saw the same destructive outcome when ‘free rides’ or ‘freeloader companies’ exploited our country (a la Facebook’s dubious influence). India mustn’t miss this chance to re-regulate a crucial industry. #BoycottOTTscum
