Ministry of Silence: Justice Eludes Fired SITA Chiefs

MINISTER’S DECEIT EXPOSED: SITA BOARD MEMBERS REINSTATED AFTER COURT VICTORY

The South African government’s attempts to silence SITA board members have been met with a resounding defeat as the Supreme Court of Appeal denied a leave to appeal filed by Minister Mondli Gungubele, now deputy minister in the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies.

This comes after the Pretoria High Court reinstated the board members in February, following a long-standing dispute over the salary of former MD Bongani Mabaso. The minister had terminated the terms of the board members, citing "hostilities" between himself and the board.

But the truth is far more sinister. Sources close to the matter reveal that Gungubele’s real motive was to silence the board members who were demanding accountability and transparency in the awarding of contracts. The minister’s desire for control and power led him to use his position to undermine the integrity of the SITA board.

The court’s decision is a major blow to Gungubele’s authority and a victory for the SITA board members who have fought tirelessly for their rights. The reinstatement of the board members is a significant step towards restoring accountability and transparency in the department.

But the question remains: what else is the minister hiding? As the investigation into the SITA scandal continues, it is clear that Gungubele’s actions were motivated by a desire to protect his own interests, rather than serve the public.

The people of South Africa deserve better than a government that operates in secrecy and seeks to silence those who dare to question its actions. It is time for Gungubele to come clean and explain his role in the SITA scandal.
