Some people say the truth shall set you free; I say not necessarily. He can lie again and say he lost that job, and he can say that when he already has another one, so people won’t bother him with concerns or condolences and be like: ‘Oh, I’m sorry you lost that job, glad you found a new one.’ That’s it; that would be the end of it. He could potentially be confronted with situations like being asked to do something related to his previous fake job, and he would have to find an elegant way to decline it, but that’s a future problem, and one that might not even happen. I might be a liar myself, and that’s how I know so much about situations like this, but some lies have kept my private life away from so many unwanted opinions that I defend them as long as you are not harming anyone else with them. Some things are meant to be private.
