It’s silly to try to be loved the same way we love other people; we learn that the hard way as we get older. At the same time, we should try to be mindful not to sustain friendships that perpetuate a role we no longer want to occupy. It’s disheartening to always be the helper, and to never be helped. I assume she is using the internet to elaborate on the sad part of her wedding; in the end, she got married, so it likely was a happy day as well. The way her friend lived through this was probably different; she might have been stressed because she was unemployed, and saw her friend’s stress as dramatic. Sometimes, when we see someone as more fortunate than us (someone who’s throwing a big wedding party, for example), we forget they can be stressed too. Still, there is no excuse for building up so much resentment towards a friend and not saying anything until things blow up, so I have to say this time I think the maid of honour acted ungrateful and mean. The worst part is that she will be immortalized through every wedding pic. Well, even if she was ungrateful towards the end of the friendship, she still played an important part in the bride’s life, right? Luckily, that’s over now.
